Accreditation committee
Evaluation and accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations are exercised by the Committee on accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations (hereinafter - the Committee on accreditation).
Members of the Committee - representatives of the Academy of Sciences and other higher educational establishments are nominated to the Committee on accreditation for no more than one term among men of science whose competence in science and technology and high professionalism are recognized.
Committee on accreditation functions on the basis of Regulations on accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations presented in Appendix 1 of the Code of the Republic of Moldova on science and innovations.
Meetings of the Committee on accreditation are held no less than 7 times a year on initiative of the Chairman of the National council or by requirement of no less than one third of members of the Committee.
Meeting of the Committee on attestation is rendered competent if no less than two thirds of its members take part in it. Decisions are taken by majority present.
Functions and powers of the Committee on accreditation
The Committee on accreditation:
- organizes and exercises evaluation and accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations;
- organizes meetings, conferences and other events on problems of accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations;
- analyzes activities of the whole system of accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations;
- proposes personnel of specialized committees for approval of the National council;
- issues decisions on execution of accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations;
- issues accreditation certificates to organizations in the field of science and innovations;
- takes part in working out of proposals concerning strategic directions in the field of science and innovations;
- takes part in development and realization of state policy and strategy in the sphere of accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations.

The Committee on accreditation of organizations in the field of science and innovations consists of 17 members, 6 of them are proposed by the President of the Academy of Sciences, 6 are representatives of higher educational establishments nominated by the Government, and 4 of them are representatives of the Government according to their posts.
