Summary

The research field explores the approaches of using homework in music education as a paramount/integrant component of the music education system in the contemporary school.

The research problemlies in the fact that the child is deprived of the possibility to form an elevated musical-aesthetical taste, a fact attested by the existing contradiction between the values promoted during the music education lesson and the concept of homework. The research goal consists in the elaboration of both the concept of homework in music education and the ways of its development and realization of its functions and its contents.

The research objectives focus on: the description of the continuous music activity system from teleological perspective; the theoretical background about homework in music education as a crucial element of curricular and extracurricular music education; the elaboration and validation through experiments of the pedagogical model of the realization of homework in music education; statistical analysis and examination of experimental data. The research scientific innovation consists in: establishing the historical evolution of the continuous music education concept through homework; approaching from scientific-methodological perspectives of the problem of homework in music education as a crucial element of the music education system; elaborating and implementing in the educational practice of the pedagogical model of independent music activity in the context of homework in music education.

The research theoretical significance consists in: approaching the homework in music education from the current perspectives of musical pedagogy; determining of the methodological approaches of the homework in music education; establishing the psycho-pedagogical foundation of the development of pupils’ musical-artistic intelligence through homework in music education.

The research practical value lies in the conceptualization of homework as an indispensable step of the continuous music education; the determination of the methodological background of homework in music education.
