Field of study: 03.00.23 – Biotechnology.
Goal of the work: Developing of new technologies for obtaining of the lipid preparations from the green alga Dunaliella salina CNM-AV-02 biomass.
Tasks: To study the influence of induced hyper osmotic shock on quantitative and qualitative composition of lipids in Dunaliella salina CNM-AV-02, identifying ways to solve the problem of reducing the productivity of Dunaliella salina CNM-AV-02 under hyper osmotic shock conditions, the possibilities of increasing the amount of lipids in the biomass of Dunaliella salina CNM-AV-02 and the development of the directed synthesis procedures, developing advanced technologies for obtaining of lipid preparations from the biomass of Dunaliella.
Scientific novelty: for the first time has been demonstrated the solution for productivity reducing problem of alga Dunaliella salina under induced hyper osmotic shock, by using coordination compounds Fe (III) with amino acids; also, for the first time has been proposed the phospholipids ethanol extraction from Dunaliella salina biomass.
Scientific problem solved is: identification of the solutions that ensure the efficiency of the biotechnologies that are involving the green algae Dunalella salina, by obtaining simultaneously microalgae lipid complex and other valuable products, such as carotene.
Theoretical significance: New data were obtained on the biosynthetic processes which can steer dunaliela hype osmotic shock conditions in the maximum accumulation of lipids, avoiding the loss of biomass compounds by using Fe (III), and of Zn (II).
Practical value: In this work were developed complex technologies for obtaining the lipid preparations from Dunaliella salina biomass that facilities the efficient flow optimization of technology in companies that are cultivating Dunaliella for producing β-carotene by simultaneously obtaining, in the same technological process, other preparations from the same technological flux.
Implementation of scientific results: Phospholipids extraction technology and the technology of obtaining the complex lipid preparation DsLT were implemented at "Ficotehfarm"LTD (Note of implementation nr. 02-11 and 03-11, 20.11.2011).
