Summary

The structure of the thesis: the thesis consists of introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography with 196 sources, and 20 annexes, 127 pages as basic text, 11 figures and 10 tables, 20 appendices with 37 figures and 46 tables.

The object of the research of the thesis is the study of the main directions of the increase of the effectiveness of the Republic of Moldova’s foreign trade.

The tasks of the research are: the consideration of the methodology of the evaluation of exportimport operations effectiveness, the analysis of the development of the foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova; the scientific argumentation of the proposals referring to the equilibrium of trade balance and the increase of the effectiveness of foreign economic relations of the country. The main goal of the research is to determine the ways of the increase of the effectiveness in the functioning of the Republic of Moldova’s economy; to reveal the main problems in the international economic export-import relations and the methods of their solving; to argue theoretical and practical measures concerning the increase of the effectiveness of the international economic relations, in particular, the operation of export-import of the Republic of Moldova.

The methods of the research are based on the models of analysis and synthesis, systemized consideration, the method of chronological series of economic indices, economic-mathematical methods of tables and graphs etc.

The novelty and scientific originality of the results lay in the systematized consideration of the main contemporary theories on international trade; the complex analysis of the dynamics of the main indices of the foreign trade development of the Republic of Moldova; the applications of the economic-mathematical methods for the argumentation for the increase of effectiveness of solutions in the field of foreign economic activity; the main indices and factors ensuring the increase of the effectiveness of the country’s foreign trade have been determined; application of mathematical methods to argument options of efficiency of export-import transactions, on which basis one can scientifically ground main directions of the increase of economic efficiency of the export and import of various types of products and services in the Republic of Moldova.

The theoretical importance and practical value of the research. The thesis suggests the methods of scientific comprehensive analysis of the indices of the foreign trade development, which can be the basis for the elaboration of some programs, strategies, principles of the organization and realization of the country’s foreign economic policy. The author’s suggestions may be used by educational establishments in the process of the personnel training in the field of foreign economic relations.

The scientific results of the research have been presented and approved at international conferences and they have been published in 30 scientific works, among them one monograph and 14 articles in scientific journals.
