Structure of the thesis includes introduction, five chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, list of references from 271 sources, 24 appendixes, 255 pages of the main text, 55 figures, 46 tables, 44 formulas. The obtained results of the investigation were published in 42 scientific papers.
The field of the research are the land relations within the agricultural sector in the context of land consolidation and sustainable agricultural development in the Republic of Moldova.
The main goal and objectives of this research is the improvement of the land relations within the agricultural sector in the context of the individual farms consolidation in the Republic of Moldova.
The scientific novelty and originality of the carried research is: the development of buy-and-sell land relations of agricultural land by developing a completely new procedure of reducing the excessive transaction costs and simplifying of the land transactions procedures, development of recommendations regarding the improvement of the regulation of land relations with major impact on farm consolidation, application of a completely new methodology of evaluation of farms size in Moldova, by using their economic dimension, assessment of farm consolidation by using economic and spatial indicators, elaboration of principles of activity of a public land bank in Moldova.
The theoretical importance of the paper is the development of the concept of land consolidation in the context of the improvement of land relations and sustainable agricultural development in the Republic of Moldova.
The practical importance of the thesis is that the scientific results can be used by policy makers and institutions in agriculture for the improvement of existing measures in land consolidation, as well as for the evaluation of farm size. The recommended methods will allow implementation of cardinal structural adjustements within the agricultural sector, following the EU experience, appearance of economic viable individual farms, increasing of the rural families well-being, and as a consequence – will lead to a sustainable agricultural development.
Implementation of scientific results. The results of scientific investigations have been
implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Agency of Interventions and
Payments in Agriculture and the National Bureau of Statistics.
