Summary

Thesis structure. This scientifical work is presented on 140 pages and includes: an introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions, recommendations, 118 sources in the reference list, 20 tables, 63 figures, appendices. The thesis results are published in 13 scientifical works.

Study domain: Urology. Purpose: Comparison of the surgical methods’ efficacy in the treatment of the simple kidney cyst.

Thesis objectives: Comparative analysis of the diagnostic methods as well as of the indications for solitary kidney cyst’s (SKC) differential treatment: ultrasound guided cyst’s percutaneous punction, open cystectomy, laparoscopic cystectomy; comparative analysis of the treatment efficiency depending on the surgery method, economic factors, recidives’ and complications’ rate; histological and cytological evaluation of the excised SKC; clinical and economical indices analysis; elaboration of the management algorithm of the patients with SKC.

Scientifical novelty and originality. For the first time in the Republic of Moldova basing on personal experience there were studied the results of the ultrasound guided percutaneous punction of SKC, open cystecomy and transabdominal laparoscopic cystectomy. The comparative analysis of the study results contributed to the evaluation of the multimodal treatment of SKC depending on the surgery method, economic factors, recidives’ and complications’ rate.

Solved scientifical problem: There were determined the main factors that influence the rational surgical treatment selection in patients with SKC, providing the treatment results’ amelioration and the postoperative recidives’ reduction.

Theoretical and practical value of the thesis: The carried out study demonstrated individual contribution of different diagnostic modalities in the future surgery’s planning. Laparoscopic cystectomy is recommended as the first intention method. The study results contributed to the diagnostic and treatment algorithm elaboration. Theoretical and practical results were implemented in the didactic and medical process at the Urology and Surgical Nephrology Department of the SUMP „N.Testemiţanu” as well as at the Urology, Dialysis and Kidney transplant Clinics from the PSMI Clinical Republican Hospital.
