The aim of the study is the physiological and hygienic assessment of the impact of computerized educational and occupational environment and the computer use on pupils’ health with the elaboration of preventive measures.
Research objectives: analysis of incidence, morpho-functional characteristics of the pupils’ organizm and timing in computerized teaching in the dynamics; evaluation of environmental education factors; inner organization and sanitary-technical equipment of computer-science classrooms; determination of complexity level of the subject “Informatics and Computer Science” (ICS) and assessment of the correctness of the ICS subject inclusion in the time-table; estimating the knowledge of pupils and parents about the computer using; assessmnet of adaptation degree; integrated assessment of the interaction of risk factors, generated by computers and morpho-functional health of pupils; elaboration and implementation of primary prevention measures in computer use.
Scientific novelty and originality.In this study for the first time in the Republic of Moldova the impact of educational environment in ICS classrooms on functional status and health of pupils was established, the SWOT-analysis to determine the advantages and disadvantages of computer using was carried out, as well as the measures to reduce potential risks were proposed. The originality of the work lies in the complexity and temporal dynamics of research and in the quantification of the relationship between health indices and determinants of pupils, which serves as a basis for the decision-making in public health. The scientific problem, solved in this study, is determination of risk factors associated with work on the computer as well as development and implementation of primary preventive measures of unwanted effects on using the informational technics.
Theoretical and practical significance. The research contributes to the development of integrated methodology for study and assessment of educational environment of computerized teaching. There were established the syptomatological and clinical features of health state of pupils, who use the computer excessively, that complements the scientific and practical data on the respective components in this domain. Study results contribute to the development of the theory of adaptive response processes during computer activities. The existence and significance of predisposing risk factors and triggers were demonstrated. The specificity and high sensitivity of the questionnaire method were proven.
Implementation of scientific results. The results of study are included in the curricula of lectures and workshops for students, residents and practicing physicians. There were developed useful materials for physicians of Public Health Centers (guidelines, scheme of investigation, sanitary passport for the ICS classrooms, etc.), and 7 information booklets for population.
