Summary

To constitute a democratic political regime, the political culture plays a fundamental role. The hope for positive change of political culture is connected especially to youth people and particularly students, the future intellectuals of our society. Within this study there were researched the characteristics and problems of formation of political culture of Republic of Moldova.

In the first chapter it is accomplished a theoretical and methodological analysis of political culture phenomenon. The conceptual and structural meaning of the political culture was determined. There were analyzed typological aspects and their roles in the period of transition. Also, there were examined the functions of the political culture and their characteristic features in the period of transition.

In the second chapter there was studied the social and demographic specification of the students as bearers of political culture. A special attention is allotted to the "students" category, which is utilized in this work to nominate only those young people that are full time higher education students. There were studied the characteristic features of students as bearers of political culture. There were analyzed the main features of political culture of the students in the period of transition.

In the third chapter it was studied the political socialization as a method of constitution of political culture of students. An attempt is made to determine the role of the higher education institution and of political sciences in forming the political culture of the students.
