The dissertation is devoted to strategic planning of regional potential on the basis of definition of competitive advantages. Regional competitiveness is considered in view of evolution of territorial social and economic development. To this purpose various theoretical sights about localization and regional development are investigated.
In work a complex analyzes of national economy from a position of competitiveness of Moldavian production on international market is lead. Correlating the revealed results to theoretical bases defined the purpose of research - a methodological argumentation of the regional strategy development process.
The paper’s main object describes the methodology to identify the value chains competitiveness of industries with competitive advantages. Using the developed methodology the competitive advantage of economy of Republic Moldova and administrative-territorial formations are specified
A system of indicators of regional competitivity on the entrepreneurial and innovative environments is developed and argued. The quantitative and comparative analysis confirms enterprise agglomeration that passes boundaries of present administrative territories.
Carried out researches confirm the influence of SME, educational and research establishments on the level of development of the given territory, and argues the difference of development levels of Moldova regions.
The regional competitivity development perspectives are connected with experience of the European countries.
The thesis proposes a methodology of regional development strategy identifying economic, social and human potential reserves.
The practical value of the thesis and of the proposed methodologies was confirmed in the strategic planning of Southern Economic Region which includes eight areas of the Republic of Moldova
