The thesis tackles the problems of the efficiency of economic factors and their influence upon religious activity in the conditions of economic and social development. The thesis consists of Introduction, 3 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, a bibliography comprised of 174 titles, 130 pages of text. The results obtained are reflected in 27 research publications.
Field of study: economics, management, communication science.
Purpose and objectives: to elucidate managerial activity aspect of economic factors in religious activity; to develop efficient theoretical and methodological bases connected to economic efficiency of religious activity; to identify a number of approaches and factors instrumental in sustaining and growth of the number of Orthodox Christians in the Republic of Moldova.
Theoretical importance and originality of the work are determined by the problems of economic activity in the church sphere and the systemic approach to the processes under study. The research is concentrated around doctrinal aspects of the short-, medium- and long-term Christian Orthodox activity development; quantitative evaluation of Christian Orthodox activity in the context of globalization; developing an economic and mathematical prognostication model for assessing the rise in the Christian Orthodox numerical strength; the method of quantity management of church personnel activity.
Theoretical importance and applied value of the work consist in its orientation towards the improvement of the functioning of the Chisinau and All Moldova Metropolitan Office; the rise in the number of Orthodox Christians; application of numerical methods in assessing the growing economic efficiency obtained by improving church infrastructure and managerial activity of church personnel.
Research results implementation: The recommendations proposed may be applied in practical activities of ministries, departments and public institutions. The recommendations of the present study have been taken into account in the activity of the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova Office and the Moldovan Orthodox Theological Academy.
