Rusnac Ludmila. Phenomenon of violence in televisual media. Republic of Moldova case. Thesis of doctor degree in philology. Chisinau, 2010. This research includes the adnotations in Romanian, Russian and English, the list of abbreviations, the content, the introduction, three chapters, 149 pages of basic text, the bibliography (258 titles), general conclusions, 15 annexes. The investigation guidelines have been approached in 9 scientific papers.
Field of study approaches the violence media broadcasting via television channels.
The purpose of the paper is to analyze the proportions of media broadcasting and the verbal and imagistic peculiarities of violence in televisual media in local broadcasts and retransmitted channels in the audiovisual area of Moldova and to identify, on that basis, the mechanisms of establishing the antiviolence policies.
The objectives of the paper concerns: definition, typology and contextualization of violence in televisual media, the quantitative analysis of language specificity in the informative programs with violent content, synthesize the discursive-contextual characteristics of violence in television content with closed, semi-open and open structure, the investigation of strategies of violence scripting in advertising messages, analyze the legal provisions for promoting by the foreign and local broadcasters of antiviolence editorial policies, researching the self-regulating antiviolence practices; investigating the antiviolence practices with extra-media characteristics;
Research methodology. In the process of investigation we applied the structural-functional method, content analysis, statistical method, observation method, comparative method and inductive and deductive methods.
Novelty and scientific originality. The paper represents the first comprehensive study of violence in televisual media in the local scientific environment, proposes a new definition and creates a new model of typology of violence in televisual media, analyzes the television programs with violent content in lingual and style perspective, presents statistics on the violence proportion in content, suggests a signaletic system pattern and a pattern of self-regulatory code regarding the media broadcasting of violence via television.
Theoretical significance of this study is substantiated by the results and conclusions of the investigation in different aspects of the phenomenon of violence in televisual media, reflected in the local television programs and retransmitted in the audiovisual area of Moldova.
The applicative value of the paper. The results of the research can be the basis for the development of measures towards reconsidering editorial policy regarding the media violence and minimize the effects of this phenomenon and can be used by students as theoretical and practical support in specialized disciplines, by the employees of television channels, by the licensees for retransmission of program services and by public television. Current investigation may be a reference for further research of the approached problem.
Implementation of scientific results. The results of the investigation will constitute the basis of specialized disciplines at the Journalism and Communication Sciences Department.
