Summary

The paper represents a series of studies aimed at the research of the evolution in the diversity, patterns and trends in transformations of fish coenosa in the ecosystems of the Republic of Moldova under human impacts.

Scientific argumentation has been given to the patterns of the processes, which occur in the structure of populations within ichthyocoenosa of ecosystems in the Dniester River, the Prut River and their main tributaries, as well as the Reservoirs of Dubăsari, Cuciurgan, and Costeşti-Stânca, Manta and Beleu – lakes in the Prut River floodplain, small rivers situated between the Dniester and the Prut. New data were gained on the species diversity, abundances and structuralfunctional transformations of fish populations (age structure, growth rate, fecundity), as well as on the development and functioning of reproduction system organs (the rate of sexual maturation, sexual annual cycle, degenerative processes and ovary anomalies).

The research allowed supporting the need for including some fish species, as indicators of fish fauna diversity, into the monitoring system for aquatic ecosystems.

The populations of fish species from aquatic ecosystems of the Republic of Moldova have been brought together into a list, which will enhance the monitoring of fish fauna diversity and will serve as a basis for its conservation. The practical procedures developed comprise technologies and ecologicalindustrial techniques for the reproduction and growing of valuable fish species (patents MD-824 and MD-961), which allow improving the conditions for reproduction and augmentation of fish resources of water bodies.

The Concept and Programme of actions on protection and sustainable use of ichthyofauna of aquatic ecosystems of the Republic of Moldova were proposed.
