Field of study. History of Romanian Literature.
The paper’s goal concerns on ethical and epic analysis in the creation of Ioan Slavici.
Objectives of the investigation:
- to demonstrate the progress in writer prose in the literary and historical context;
- to detect its individually mark;
- to fallow its changes of epic formula;
- to explore the typology of artistic characters;
- to interpret a literary phenomenon of Ioan Slavici in a modern and postmodern perspective.
Theoretical importance residue in trying to demonstrate that through Slavici, the Romanian novel enters into dialogue at the end of nineteenth century and early twentieth-century, with European novel not through the substitution of aesthetics with ethics, but through the same balance.
Applied value of work is that applying these delicately observations to the work and the personality of Ioan Slavici, we ascertain - mutatis mutandis - that he model a universalist ethics through its reading of popular ethics, postulates of Schopenhauer, Kant, Confucius.
Implementation of scientific results. Results of the investigation have been implemented in Higher Education in the course of History of Romanian Literature.
