Summary

The thesis includes 123 pages and consists of introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, 184 bibliography sources, 2 annexes, 24 tables and 57 figures. The obtained results were summarized in the shape of 16 publications and 1 patent.

Research field: 02.00.01 – Inorganic Chemistry.

Scope of work: synthesis and physico-chemical investigation of new Cr(III) heterometallic compounds on the basis of polyfunctional ligands with some s and d metals.

Objectives: improvement of known and elaboration of new methods of synthesis for obtaining heterometallic combinations with dimer fragments Cr2(μ-OH)2 and Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-RCOO) on the basis of nitrilotriacetic acid and metallic ions of s type (Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+) and d type (Fe2+, Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+ şi Ag+); establishment of chemical composition, determination of the obtained compounds structures; elucidation of structure – magnetic properties correlation; investigation of electric properties of heterometallic combinations with dimer Cr2(μ-OH)2, Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-CH3COO) and Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-NC5H4COO) fragments.

Scientific novelty: Nineteen new heterometallic compounds on the basis of dimer blocks [Cr2(μ-OH)2(nta)2]2ˉ and [Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-RCOO)(nta)2]2ˉwith some s and d elements have been synthesized and studied. A new synthesis method of heterometallic compounds with Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-RCOO) fragments was proposed.

Theoretic significance: there were obtained new data related to the possibility of obtaining heterometallic compounds of chromium(III) in view of extension of knowledge arsenal in the field of coordination chemistry. These results may be used as a support in teaching special courses at chemistry department.

Practical significance: consists in the possibility of using the elaborated synthesis methods of the coordination combinations with [Cr2(μ-OH)2(nta)2]2ˉ and [Cr2(μ-OH)(μ-RCO2)(nta)2]2ˉ anions in preparative chemistry; some compounds have a specific electric resistance higher than the dielectric materials used in industry, a challenge for dielectric materials field.
