Summary

Structure and biochemical composition of Aronia melanocarpa (Michx.) Elliot fruits in vivo and in vitro”, a thesis of doctor habilitat in biology, Chisinau, 2010. The thesis consists: of introduction, 7 chapters, conclusions, 199 text pages with 30 tables and 102 figures, 8 attachments with 15 tables and 123 figures, 388 bibliography references. Results of the study were published in 57 scientific works. Key words: Aronia melanocarpa, anatomy, ultrastructure, fruit, biochemistry, carpomass, phenolic compounds, in vitro, in vivo. Domain of study: Botany. Aim of the study: Identification of the indices for induction and accumulation of carpomass of A.melanocarpa (Michx.) Elliot fruits, investigation of their structure, ultrastructure and biochemical composition in comparison with their analogs, obtained in vivo. Tasks: histoanatomical study in eco- and carpogenesis; optimization of the conditions for carpocallus induction and accumulation; elucidation of vector-factors for stimulation of phenol biosynthesis in carpomass; comparative study of structure and ultrastructure of carpomass in vitro and fruits in vivo; qualitative and quantitative determination of phenols; carry out a correlation analysis between phenol content of A. melanocarpa (Michx.) Elliot carpoextracts, obtained in vivo and in vitro and its antioxidant and antibacterial activities. Scientific innovation and originality: For the first time was obtained carpomass in vitro from succulent fruit of A. melanocarpa, which was evaluated with morphological, celullar and biochemical methods, also were determinated its antioxidant and antibacterial activities in comparison with fruits in vivo. Theoretic significance: Comparative cytoanatomical and biochemical results of investigation of carpocallus cells in vitro and fruit of A. melanocarpa reflect the carpogenesis and ecocarpogenesis conception and confirm principles of the structure modifications in evolution. Application value: The conditions of carpomass induction and accumulation in vitro were established and the vector-factors to obtain the carpomass-rich in phenol compounds were determined. The correlation between antioxidant, antibacterial activity against virulent microorganisms, and phenolic content of A. melanocarpa was established. A. melanocarpa carpoculture in vitro may be the model of the biotechnological scheme for manipulating produce of biomass as a source of alternative raw material. Application of the scientific results: The results are applied in: the Program of pharmaceutical education of the students of SUMP „Nicolae Testemiţanu”; manual „Pharmaceutical Botany”, Calalb T., Bodrug M., 2009; „Indications for laboratory works of Pharmaceutical Botany”, Calalb T., 2005; the Program of raising the level of one’s skill of pharmacists of SUMP „Nicolae Testemiţanu” with the course „Medicinal plant cell and tissue culture in vitro”; Universitary course „Comaparative mophology and anatomy” for masterat, Biology chair, Nature science Faculty of University of Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
