Thesis structure. This research comprises an introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, 140 pages of basic text, a table and three figures included in the text, a bibliography made up of 175 titles, annotations made in Romanian, Russian, and English. The research results are published in12 scientific works.
Domain of research. Romanic philology. Grammar. Semantics.
The aim and objectivesof this research constitute in the iden¬ti¬fi¬cation of the semantic values and the pragmatico-communicative func¬tions which the tautology acquires in French within different syntactic structures. The difficulty to define these values relies in the identity of the tautological structures significance, which we present as the following samples: x is x (life is life) and there is x and x (are doctors and doctors).
Scientific novelty and originality rely in the identification of the mechanism, method through which we prove that the identity of the significant, when it is a subject or predicative, as essential components of the simple sentence or of the tautological statement, does not lead to its significant identity in those two distinct syntactical positions.
The theoretical significanceof the promoted research in the thesis constitutes in the development of certain mechanism to identify the phenomenon of tautology in the structure of various syntactic units, due to certain morphological, typological, functional, and semantic criteria, which differ these structures from others based on the technique of repe¬tition. The typecasting of the tautological units and their classification lead to an easier identification of their peculiar characteristics, which allow to frame them from the structural point of view and facilitate their semantic interpretation.
Applicative value. The analyzed examples and the research results may be used while teaching the theoretical and practical courses of grammar, semantics, text semiotic analysis, contrastive translation.
Scientific results implementation. The research results were applied at the higher education level in the framework of such courses as theoretical grammar, communication, literal text interpretation and speciali¬zed language translation.
