Number of publications on the topic of the thesis: the results are published in 20 scientific papers.
Field of study: Economics of rail transport.
Goals and objectives: The scope of the research consist in the investigation and elaboration of the way that will increase the efficiency of the process of the European integration of the railroad of the Romania and Moldova thru the viewpoint of adjustment of interoperability to the system of European railroad.
Scientific novelty and originality: evidence of activity’s indicator progress as well as that of the served clients, analysis and practical sampling of a mathematical model for determining the coefficients to reduce traffic speed of freight trains as a result of the passengers trains movement on the same network, observing the influence of variation in the freight wagon turnover on the cost price in the case of transport in international traffic, compiling a questionnaire on informing and attitude of the public on the opportunity to achieve a specialized network of rail freight in the EU and its implications on Romania; analysis of the integration process of Moldova's railway network in the EU network.
Theoretical importance: the systemic and realistic approach to the problems of integration and interoperability of rail transport in Europe and the chances of creating a specialized network of rail freight.
The practical value of the work: improvement of railway employees training from Romania and improvement of rail freight strategy to increase business efficiency.
Implementation of scientific results: conclusions and recommendations settled in the paper can be used to improve rail strategy in Romania. The obtained theoretical and practical results can be used in the instruction and teaching process at the institutions of technical and specialized economic education.
