Dissertation structure. The present dissertation is dedicated to the experimental analysis of vowels and triphthongs in contemporary and spoken Romanian from the articulate, acoustic and perceptible point of view.
The dissertation includes an introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions, abbreviations, key words, bibliography (186 titles), 149 pages and 3 appendixes. The achieved results are published in 8 scientific works.
Study field: Experimental Phonetics.
Goal and objectives: The phonetically experimental procedures, affixed to the problem of triphthongs and vowels in the Literary and Spoken Romanian, the description of the articulatory and perception, the acoustic characterizations, the analysis of the vocalic group’s duration, as well as the triphthongs and vowels behavior in LRL and SRL, their aesthetic value, are touched upon. Theoretico-linguistic and methodico-didactical conclusions, followed by the bibliography, the textual sources and the appendix including oscillogrammes and spectrogrammes, obtained by us as a result of the performed phonetically experiments are given as well.
Scientific Innovation and Originality. The study constitutes an attempt to describe vocalic groups, triphtongs, diphtongs, hiatus applying the experimental analysis to obtain: the frequency, formants, duration, intencity. We’ve intended to make a primal analysis in Literary and Spoken Romanian.
Theoretical Significance and Practical Value. The research presents a theoretical and practical support for future investigations in phonetics. This work results will help to fill some gaps concerning vocalic groups, triphtongs, diphtongs, hiatus. The content which was analysed may serve as an underpinning in the elaboration of some courses for Philology Faculties.
Scientific results implementation The study results could be put into effect in didactic activities of higher education during theoretical and practical courses of Phonetics and also it can serve as a further in writing thesis.
