Summary

Thesis Structure: Introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, 259 bibliographical titles, 3 annexes, basic text 129 pages, 13 drawings, 6 tables,. The results of the thesis are published in 12 scientific, methodic and didactical works.

Field of Study: Educational management.

Aim of Research: Determining of pedagogical and management foundations of development of complementary education institutions in the Republic of Moldova

Objectives of Research: An analysis of evolution of complementary education system and that of change and development tendencies of its social functions; an analysis of issues related to pedagogical and management theories regarding complementary education at the institutional level; correlation of development of complementary education institutions to conceptual and normative acts of formal education; figuring out of pedagogical and management premises of development of complementary education institutions in the Republic of Moldova; elaborating and experimental validation of a pedagogical and managerial model of development of complementary education institutions in the Republic of Moldova.

Novelty and Scientific Originality of Research: Systematisation of conceptual founations regarding development of complementary education institutions in the Republic of Moldova; figuring out of peculiarities of educational and management activity within a compelemntary education institution; determining of conditions and ways of development of complementary education institutions; figuring out of criteria-based and analytical methodology of evaluation of complementary education quality at the institutional level. The scientific problem is actual on the importance in investigated area and consists in creation, the argumentation and projecting of pedagogical and management model of development of complementary education institutions.

Theoretical Significance of Research resides in scientific argumentation, definition and educational approach of the concepts of complementary education, educational and management activity within a complementary education institution, pedagogical and managerial foundations of development of complementary education institutions.

Applied Value of Research is explained through the possibility of implementation of pedagogical and managerial model in different types of complementary education institutions, through the support offered for elaboration of programmes for development of complementary education institutions, as well as through the applicability of the research results in basic and continuous education of teachers from complementary education institutions.

Implementation of Research Results: Performed at the institutional level within complementary education institutions in 2000-2008 and at teachers’ training courses within the Institute of Education and Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University.
