Summary

The thesis is exposed on 140 basic text pages and includes introduction, four chapters, conclusions, bibliography from 246 sources, 11 annexes, 15 figures and 30 tables. The achieved results were published in 23 scientific works.

Purpose of the study. Elaboration of methods of integrating the social assistance services in the perinatal care with evaluation of the effectiveness of psychosocial support interventions.

Research objectives. 1) Evaluation of medico-social determinants of antenatal care accessibility in Chişinău municipality; 2) Elaboration of methods of identifying social risk factors during pregnancy and after birth; 3) Adaptation of methods and work tools of the social assistant to the specific of perinatal care; 4) Evaluation of the impact of social support interventions in the frame of perinatal care; 5) Elaboration of a model of social assistance integrated in perinatal care.

Methodology. The research presents a transversal complex study, both full and selective.

Novelty and scientific originality. For the first time in Republic of Moldova there have been studied the socio-medical aspects of perinatal care, it was made a study of medical-social determinants of antenatal care accessibility and has been demonstrated the impact of support interventions to the families being in difficulty during pregnancy and after childbirth depending on the opportunity, volume and duration of the offered support.

Theoretical significance. The research presents itself a multidisciplinary study, involving aspects of social medicine, health service management, clinical psychology and social assistance services organization.

The applicative value of the work. It was elaborated a model of intersectoral cooperation in providing medico-psychosоcial support to the families with psychosocial problems during pregnancy and after birth through the practical implementation in the activity of the perinatology center of the concepts of „multidisciplinary team” and „collaboration network”.

Implementation of the scientific results. The study results were implemented within the perinatological service of the Chişinău municipality and in the activity of some institutions subordinated to the Municipal Direction for Protection of Child Rights, Chişinău.
