The thesis consists of 211 pages, it begins with introduction, followed by 6 chapters, discussions, general conclusions, practical recommendations, 267 bibliographical sources and includes 18 annexes, 27 tables and 27 figures. The results were reflected in 31 scientific publications.
Domain of research: Forensic medicine.
Goal: To improve quality of surgical assistance using clinical and medico-legal evaluation, and judicial interpretation of the professional mistakes, to systemize the determining causes and to develop measures of their prevention.
Objectives of research: to identify medical professional deficiencies; to systematize causes of the deficiencies and adverse consequences of surgical assistance; to analyze and to classify professional deficiencies in surgical care; to appreciate medical documentation’s quality; to evaluate level of surgeons’ knowledge concerning Moldova’s legislation which regulate medical activity; to develop scientific recommendations and measures for improving quality of healthcare, of medical documentation, to prevent conflicts and to assure implementation of recommendations in medical and medico-legal practice and in pedagogical process.
Novelty and originality of research: For the first time a comprehensive study of quality of surgical assistance provided to the population of Republic of Moldova based on medical, medicolegal and judicial information was realized. Structure of medical deficiencies and their causes were established. A sociological study which established the level of judicial knowledge of surgeons was performed.
Theoretical and applied value: Obtained information is used as teaching material and information support to avoid deficiencies in medical practice. The results which are already implemented in educational activities and clinical practice in the country, will improve the quality of medical services provided to population.
Practical implementation: The results of present scientific study were implemented in
didactic activity of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemiţanu”, School
of Public Health and the State University from Moldova, as soon as in national medical and
medico-legal practice.
