Thesis structure: introduction, 5 chapters, conclusions and practical recommendations. The thesis contains 131 pages of basic text, 31 figures, 20 tables. The bibliography includes 150 works. There are 3 appendices. The research results have been reflected in 13 scientific works, including reviewed articles in journals – 6, of which without co-authors – 2, speeches at national scientific conferences – 2.
Field of study: early detection and screening in prostate cancer
Aim of thesis. It is aimed at presentation of early detection management and optimization of multilateral screening in prostate cancer.
Thesis objectives: Research of some aspects concerning early detection and elaboration of basic methods of diagnostics and screening in prostate cancer
Scientific novelty of the results obtained: The aspects of early detection and screening in prostate cancer have been studied in the Republic of Moldova for the first time. The peculiarities of differential diagnosis and clinical-diagnostic peculiarities of prostate neoplasm have been studied. The optimal methods of early detection and screening in prostate cancer in men after 50 years old have been determined.
Theoretical significance. It supplements the knowledge in evaluation of major risk factors, involved in increase of prostate cancer incidence: stress and psycho-emotional load, environment, alimentation, hormonal status and age, which can serve as a reference point in secondary prophylaxis.
Practical value of work. Analysis of information capacity of diagnostic methods – TR, PSA, TRUS and prostate biopsy with histological examination in CP, determination of major risk factors have allowed elaborating algorithms of early detection and main stages of screening in prostate cancer.
The work results have been implemented in early detection of prostate cancer at the Consultative-Diagnostic Centre and Urology Department of PMSI OI (Public Medical and Nursing Institution Institute of Oncology). The diagnostic algorithms have been introduced in the Prostate Cancer National Clinical Protocol.
