Summary

Keywords: flora, floral epitome, rare plants, plants conservation, forest vegetation, meadow, glade, forest station. Field of study: Botany.

The aim of the thesis: Highlighting of current flora diversity, elaboration of the floristic epitome and analysis of flora of the "Codrii" Reserve in order to optimize the conservation of vascular plants.

Objectives of work: inventory of vascular plants and establishment of the actual flora composition of the vegetation types; establishment of the actual flora epitome of “Codrii” Reserve; analysis of reserve`s flora under the taxonomical, bioforms, ecological and geoelements aspect on vegetation types; highlighting the current status of rare plants species; developing recommendations to optimize the vascular plants conservation from "Codrii" Reserve.

Scientific novelty and originality. The composition of current flora of "Codrii" Reserve has been specified; determined that the current flora of the reserve includes 808 species of vascular plants. For the first time has been identified that the forest flora includes 215 species, the glades flora- 207 species, the meadows flora - 276 species, the flora of forest edge - 158 species, the ruderal flora - 97 species of vascular plants; identified 8 new plant species for the reserve`s flora; 134 species of vascular plants previously indicated for the reserve`s territory were not confirmed in the field and in the herbarium, 18 species from the herbarium of the Reserve - determined incorrectly, 8 species of plants were given as synonyms; highlighted the ecological groups (depending on moisture (U), temperature (T), soil reaction (R), the bioforms and phytogeographical elements spectra; highlighted the list of species protected by the state; developed the conservation measures for the rare plant species.

The scientific problem solved: The floristic composition and the floral epitome of the reserve have been established, the floral analysis has been elaborated under the ecological, bioforms and geoelements aspects, wich contributes to the assessment of the current status and trends taking place in the flora of the reserve in order to achieve monitoring and elaborate the management plan of Reserve "Codrii".

Theoretical significance. The composition of the actual flora has been specified and the current epitome of the flora of "Codrii" Reserve has been made as a starting point for following researches.

Applicative value. The scientific researches carried out fall in the priority directions of the National Strategy and the Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation (2002), and contribute for achieving the international conventions on biodiversity conservation. The conducted study reflects current situation of the "Codrii" Reserve`s flora and makes possible the elaboration of the recommendations for optimization of biodiversity conservation on the territory.

Implementation of scientific results. The results of the scientific researchers will be used in the development of the management plan of the "Codrii" Reserve and in the optimize the conservation of rare species.
