Thesis structure. The thesis is organized as follows: introduction, three chapters, conclusions, bibliography of 234 units, 10 annexes, 137 pages of basic text, 47 figures and 20 tables. The results are published in 14 scientific papers.
Field of study: Emotional disorders’ psychology.
The research purpose was to determine emotional disorders as consequences of abuse and neglect, the family factors and the impact of a psychoterapeutical program on these disorders.
The research goals were: to design and to accomplish the reasearch project by using different investigation methods and techniques of abuse and neglect; to identify the family factors which could affect the abuse and the child neglect; to determine emotional disorders as a consequence of abuse and neglect on children aged 8-12 years; to decide on the presence and the absence of a psychiatrical diagnosis to the children evaluated; to create and to implement a psychoterapeutical program in order to improve the emotional disorders identified; to determine the effectiveness of the psychotherapeutic program applied.
Novelty and scientific originality. For the first time at the national level it has been written the experimental study of emotional disorders as a consequence of abused and neglected children phenomenon and it was applied a psychoterapeutical program in order to improve the psycho emotional disorders of these children.
Important scientific problemsolved consists in identifying emotional disorders of abused and neglected children, the familial factors wich are favoring these phenomenon and establishing psychotherapeutic methods to improve them.
Theoretical significance. The study brings out the emotional disorders on children who are abused and neglected and who are surrounded by the familial factors conductive to these disorders.
The applied value of the work. During the research, it was designed, implemented and verified a psychotherapeutic intervention program aimed to improve emotional disorders on children who are victims of abuse or neglect; the results obtained complete the actual information, so the thesis could become the basis of a good practice guide, from theoretical (through its theoretical foundation) and practical point of view (given the author's experience with these particular children); the psychotherapeutic intervention program may be applied by specialized psychologists who are operating in the protection child system, in assessment centers and clinics and also in counseling or psychotherapy for abused or neglected children and their families; the work materials can be used in teaching undergraduate courses, master specialization and continuing education for psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers interested in the filed studied.
Scientific results implementation. The results are used in the training program of psychologists in clinical psychology field, in counseling and psychotherapy, within the Society of Experiential Romanian Psychotherapy and they are recommended for the academic training for licence and master programs from University of Bucharest.
