Summary

Thesis structure: introduction, 5 chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography based on 268 sources. This paper includes 191 pages of text, 13 tables, 32 illustrated figures and 11 annexes on 105 pages. The results are published in 25 scientific papers. Field of study: 164.01 – Botany.

The aim of the thesis: Determining taxonomic composition and ecological-chorological particularities of macromycetes in Moldova, to assess their role in nature and practical significance.

Objectives of work: Research and collection of materials in the field; identification and development of taxonomic adnotation of macromycetes in Moldova; taxonomic and ecologicalchorological analysis of macromicobiota from different habitats; highlighting their growing features in different phytocenosis in the researched territory; evaluation of the economic potential of researched macromycetes; recording and evaluation of endangered species.

Scientific novelty and originality: As a result of field and laboratory researches for the first time it was highlighted the taxonomic composition and developed the taxonomic abstract of macromycetes in Moldova, which includes 836 taxa belonging to 227 genera from 81 families.

For the absolute majority of species are shown their biological and ecological particularities. The main new results for science and practice: the solved scientific problem concerns an unique direction of macromicobiota research, in developing a sustainable and flexible strategy for their efficient and rational harnessing. Data on macromycetes trophic relationships represents a valuable material in the area of methodological investigations on ethology of parasitic macromycete species intended to improve the phytosanitary of forest ecosystems. For the first time the evaluation of natural resources of macromycete in the country was done. Theoretic significance: the obtained results considerably extend the knowledge about biodiversity of Moldova territories and represents a significant contribution in assessing and taxonomic determination of Fungi world.

Practical value: Scientific research conducted fits within the priority directions of the National Strategy and Biodiversity Conservation Action Plan (2002, 2013), and contributes to implementation of international conventions on biodiversity conservation. This study reflects the current situation of micobiota in the country and allows developing recommendations for optimizing the conservation of biodiversity in this region.

Implementation of scientific results: The results contribute significantly to the knowledge of biodiversity of micobiota in Moldova. The research materials on the specific composition and distribution of macromycetes in different vegetation types were included in several popularisation publications of biological diversity. The ecological and chorological particularities of edible and toxic mushrooms allow a perseveringly and extensive practical use. The data on trophic particularities of the species living on dead or alive wood are used by forest protection and timber construction service.
