Summary

Thesis structure: introduction, three chapters, conclusions, 168 bibliographical titles, 4 annexes, 128 basic text pages, 22 figures, 29 tables. The results of the thesis are published in 10 scientific papers.

Field of study: Pedagogical Sciences. Didactics of computer science.

Research goal: elaboration of methodology for the use of ICT in the initial training of teachers orientated to the development of digital competencies.

Research objectives: (1) Determination of pedagogical bases of ICT use in the initial training of teachers; (2) Elaboration of a new curriculum for the Information Technologies course, adjusted to the curriculum of primary education; (3) Elaboration of methodology for implementation of the Information Technologies curriculum; (4) Determining the structure of a module with integrating resources, where the Information Technologies course is important part; (5) Elaboration of integrator model of the Information Technologies course; (6) The experimental validation of the elaborated model and methodology within course of Information Technologies.

Novelty and originality of scientific work: Was developed a model for initial training in ICT of future primary school teachers, through Information Technologies university course, whose curriculum was modernized to achieve the research purpose. It differs from existing models through the matrix approach: ICT competency standards for primary school pupils - specific disciplines for primary education.

Important scientific problem solved: the theoretical and methodological foundation of process for the use of information and communication technologies in the initial training of teachers in developing digital competencies.

The theoretical significance of research: the study of the impact of information technologies to the initial training of teachers.

The practical value of the work: follows from the developed methodology and the possibility of its implementation in university educational practice in initial training of elementary school teachers.

Implementation of scientific results: the developed methodology, is used in teaching of the course of Information Technologies in the Faculty of Education.
