Summary

There are 28 scientific publications that reflect the theoretical analysis and experimental research of the walnut crushing and separation of the kernel from the shell, that have as final goal the calculation of initial parameters for the walnut crushing and separation apparatus design.

It has been remarked that it is rational to crush the walnut between a plate and a ring, considering the following: the ratio between the walnut diameter and the ring inner diameter should be in limits of 1.15…1.3, the humidity 13…16%, and the chamfer angle on the inside of the ring – 30 degrees.

As to the separation process, it has been seen that it is rational to separate the walnut components in an electric field, with a coronary discharge, where the cross-piece is absolutely separated from the shell and kernel, while the ratio of separation the kernel from the shell is around 75%.

It is proposed: the design of the walnut crushing-separation installations and the calculation of its economical effect.
