Structure of thesis: Introduction, three chapters, conclusion, bibliography of 223 titles, 5 annexes. The amount of the basic text of the thesis – 150 pages.

Number of publications: The results of the research are reflected in 22 scientific publications.

Field of research – Ethnology.

Purpose of the research – structural-typological and comparative-historical characteristics of calendar rites of the Bulgarians of the Republic of Moldova.

Objectives of the research: disclosure of the structure of the calendar rites of the Bulgarians of the Republic of Moldova; disclosure of semantics of ceremonies and changes made in them; as well as the research of the peculiarities of ritual terminology and folklore.

The Scientific novelty of research is caused by the fact that for the first time an attempt is made to describe the entire annual cycle of holidays and customs of the Bulgarians of the Republic of Moldova, identify general and local features; compare the data obtained with analogues of the “kin” communities of Bulgaria.

The solved scientific problem. The calendar rites structure of the Bulgarians of the Republic of Moldova was revealed, that made it possible to fulfil its comparative and historical research. The obtained results define the place of this structure in spiritual culture of the Bulgarians and in the cultural heritage of the country.

The theoretical significance of the results. The materials that are introduced into scientific circulation contribute to the research of Bulgarian-wide traditional culture and can contribute to further scientific developments in the field of spiritual culture of the ethnic groups living in the Republic of Moldova.

The practical significance of the research consists in the possibility to use the results of this research in developing a special course of lectures for university studies of the Bulgarian ethnology, ethnolinguistics, dialectology, folklore.

The results of this scientific research can be implemented in composing the textbooks for schools in which students of Bulgarian nationality are studying in the subject “History, culture and customs of the Bulgarian people”
