The present survey is directed to the improvement of the professional training process of the students from the physical education and sport faculties based on an algorithmical syllabus when teaching the basic course in the subject "athletics". The results obtained following the research, prove that the students from the physical education and sport faculties who take the basic course in the subject "athletics" have a relatively low level, both as for the level of physical and technical training and for the appropriation of the theoretic - methodical knowledge stipulated in the analytical syllabus.
In accordance with the data gathered during the research the "athletics" experimental syllabus was drown up and worked out in the basis of the algorithmical syllabus, the contents of each instruction algorithm matching the studied themes, divided on several types of lessons such as: theoretical courses, practice – methodical lessons, seminars, didactical integration – syllabus that was accomplished with the help of the students from the experimental group during two years of studies.
Within the pedagogical experiment, the algorithmical syllabus directed to the acquiring of the basis course in the subject "athletics" proved to be efficient, in the sense that the students from the experimental group appropriated to a higher qualitatively level as compared to the witness group the theoretical, methodical knowledge, motive skills and abilities stipulated in the analytical syllabus.
The algorithmical syllabus applied when teaching the basic course in the
subject "athletics" and the result of the pedagogical experiment con be used
successful by as scientific – methodical recommendations by the students and the
teachers from the physical education and sport faculties.
