Summary

The importance of this research thesis is conditioned by the influence in the world of great political transformations at the end of 80’s last century, in the context of the radical changes occurred in our society, which determined the apparition of new historical period of political, economic and cultural development – democratic transition.

The first chapter represents a theoretical-methodological research of masses and their similar forms as important subjects of social political dynamics. It is reflected the conceptualization of masses’ political behavior in the context of transition, their forms of manifestation and the specific dimensions of this period.

The second chapter analyzes the dilemmatic aspects of representations of masses’ political behavior in Republic Moldova. In this context, there are presented the impact of political and ethnic values in masses’ manifestation in the process of state building; the relationship, which is established inside of masses based on values’ set, traditions, prejudgments, stereotypes; attitudes and dilemmas of masses’ participation in the process of society democratization.

The third chapter reflects the place and the role of masses in the power system during the transition period in Republic Moldova. The relationship between masses and power was analyzed from asymmetric view, which explains the forms of power realization on masses, as well as modalities of masses’ influence and pressure on political power.

Being an important political actor, masses by their participation or absenteeism influence the processes of state democratization. Due to their level of socialization and their political culture depends the finality of society reforms. Because of masses’ increasing number, which is in permanent extension, the political elite always wished to control them. A productive political communication between masses and political elite, which final goal is the realization of general interest, represents a guaranty of efficient beginning and development of democratic processes in Republic Moldova.
