Summary

The thesis for the doctor’s degree is dedicated to studying the theoretical aspects of the statistics in the investment activity and analyses investment risk in the condition to market relation in Republic of Moldova.

This paper defines the investment concept as well as it motivates the necessity and describes the main criteria of investment classification on correspondence with the European standards in order to make international comparisons.

Starting with the investment classification the work also defines the system of statistical indicators of the investment activity and it also defines the content and the methodology of calculating them. The paper makes a complex analysis of the investment in capital assets and it treats the main problems and drawbacks, it formulates real requirements of consolidating and developing the methods of statistical evidence. The author motivates the necessity of improving the methods of observation processing and analyzing the statistical data.

Real situation is presented on the base of analyzing centralized data on the foreign investment market. The basic tendencies of developing the foreign investments at international and regional levels are also emphasized.

The work describes and analyses the weakness of the sate investment policy, and it also proposes some methods of improving the investment climate which is to assure the growth of the investment activity and the attraction of foreign investments and especially of the direct ones.

A special attention is paid to the types of the investment risks, the factors of influence and to the methods of evaluating and estimating these risks

In order to treat the investment process according with scientific standards the author chose presentation providing understanding essential aspects and methods and for this propose he confined himself to strictly necessary schematic representation via tables, formulas, diagrams.

The theoretical arguments and the practical recommendations have a great scientific and practical value and can be used while improving the methods of statistical evidence and analysis of investments as well as directed to increase both economic and social efficiency of the investment policy in the Republic of Moldova.
