The doctor’s thesis id dedicated to practical and theoretical researches of the winter wheat economic efficiency. On the basis of fundamental works analysis of economic scientists the author specifies the essence, contents and forms of economic efficiency of agricultural production, the indicators, indexes and criteria which characterize the level of the economic efficiency. In order to study deeper these categories and indicators the author elaborated the mechanism of production and economic activity, the structure and contents of production process in pyrotechnics, suggesting some new indicators reflecting the efficiency of entire system of plant cultivation, summing up indicators groups of economic efficiency at the enterprise and subdivision level. The analysis of winter wheat production shows the reduction of its efficiency.
The North Zone cultivates wheat on 120.284 ha covering 47,8 percent of total wheat area in our Republic and produces 45,3 percent of total volume of wheat grains, occupying 22,4 percent in the structure of sowed areas in Moldova. The profitableness of the winter wheat in the Republic declined from 54,9 percent un 2000 tile 24,6 percent in 2004. In 2004 in the North Zone the highest level of profitableness was obtained in the Glodeni district (52 percent) and the most reduced level was in the district of Edineţ (20,5 percent). From the view point of quality? Crop and unitary cost, the cereals produced in Moldova are not able to compete on the European market.
In order to increase the economic efficiency of winter wheat production the author elaborated and suggested a development strategy of this crop whose essence consists in: the application of intensive technologies (the full mechanization of the work processes, the increase of the harvest at the expense of fertilizers administering at the level of optimum scientific norms, the timely and qualitative soil cultivation the sowing on the rotation fields after favorable forerunners, the observance of optimum terms of harvesting, the utilization of high productivity technology), the utilization of varieties of high productivity, the production concentration, the perfecting of the mechanism of prices formation, the creation of winter wheat seller’s market, the optimization of the structure of cultivated areas etc.
A particular attention in the thesis is paid to the analysis of the demand and otter of winter wheat in dependence on the grains quality, the state supporting of winter wheat producers, the reasonable utilization of production resources, etc.
