Summary

Thesis’s structure: Introduction, 3 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations. The volume of the dissertation – 150 pages of basic text, bibliography of 291 titles, 2 attachments. The main content of the thesis is reflected in 35 scientific publications, including two monographs.

Main goal of the thesis: multilateral reflection of the cultural space of the Orthodox cemeteries of the Republic of Moldova during the XVIII – first half of XIX centuries in terms of historical, architectural and artistic aspects.

Tasks of the thesis: comprehensive study of architectural, historical and artistic features of the Orthodox cemeteries; mapping, description, systematization and introduction the most impressive cemeteries into scientific circulation churches near some cemeteries and funeral architectural constructions.

Novelty and originality of the work is in the specificity of the thesis, which is the first study in the national historiography, made by means of the scientific adoption of the archival, historical, cartographic, epigraphic, iconographic materials and other documentation on the locality. For the first time a comprehensive picture of the development of the cemetery, the burial of architectural designs was represented there.

The decision of important scientific problem: it is the identification and revelation of the specific features of architectural, historical and artistic evolution of the Orthodox cemeteries space in the context of religious and funeral architecture in the Republic of Moldova. And as a result, there is the definition of important scientific sector of material and spiritual culture replenishing the data base of the national cultural heritage with the goal of familiarization with European public policy in the field of culture relative to the scientific development and conservation of the country's historical and architectural monuments.

Applied and theoretical value of the thesis expresses in scientific argumentation of some results through the diversification of scientific research in the field of Visual Arts; presented typologies can be served as a methodological basis for future synthetic methods of research of synthetic religious and funeral architecture. Theoretical and practical contents of the thesis can be a source of information in the process of mapping the Orthodox cemeteries, churches and funerary complexes. Scientific results can be used as a methodical material in some institutes of higher education for students learning a History of architecture, Theology, History, Civil law.

Implementation of scientific results. Generalization of the thesis, theoretical conclusions and recommendations can promote diversity summarizing scientific investigations and special courses relative to religious architecture. The results of this dissertation were published in 35 scientific articles, common volume of 40 author's sheets and approved at the 20 national and international conferences according to the research area, used for the preparation of television broadcasts about the Orthodox cemeteries, funeral monuments on the graves and cemeterial churches.
