Summary

Thesis structure: introduction, 4 chapters, the main conclusions and recommendations, the bibliography from 235 titles, 149 pages of the main text, the appendix, including musical examples, analytical tables, canonical texts of compositions and biographical sketch of the composer V. Ciolac.

Area of research: history of national music – the composition of religious subject of composers of the Republic of Moldova.

The purpose of work consists in research of stylistic features of compositions of religious subject of V. Ciolac at a support on the main characteristics of genres of Catholic music, and also centuries-old traditions of their composer interpretation.

Research problems: studying of the church genre canons of Roman Catholic music making area of creative interests of V. Ciolac; disclosure of specifics of interpretation of texts in spiritual and musical compositions of the composer; identification in the course of the analysis of structural, stylistic and semantic parameters of the musical opuses of V. Ciolac relating to liturgical and extra liturgical genres of the western Christian tradition, and also the sphere of concert music; definition of a contribution of the composer to enrichment of national repertoire.

Scientific novelty and originality of work consists in introduction to scientific use of new works of V. Ciolac, in a method of the analysis of musical opuses on the basis of universal criterion – the genre canons of Roman Catholic music which have caused the author's stylistic interpretation relying on traditions of the Western European spiritual and musical culture. Stylistic approach has allowed to come to the level of the characteristic of a creative method of the composer.

The scientific problem resolved in the research belongs to the sphere of musical and historical poetics of a sacred music and consists in identification of stylistic aspects of compositions of spiritual and religious subject of V. Ciolac which became result creative interpretation of musical initial genres of Catholic music on the basis of style modelling, at a support on tradition of world musical culture that promoted definition of a creative method of V. Ciolac and his contribution to development of traditions of religious music.

Theoretical value of the thesis consists in deepening of scientific knowledge of a phenomenon of a modern sacred music and its role in actual composer creativity that has become possible thanks to the analysis of compositions of religious subject of V. Ciolac in the long term of interaction of church canons of Catholic music, traditions of their embodiment in the Western European composer practice and individual and author's approaches of the composer.

Practical importance of work. Materials and results of research can be are demanded in research of national music, in concert and liturgical practicians, stories of modern music, etc. of various educational institutions of art education are used in courses of history of national music, history of church music, choral literature, musical forms.

Implementation of scientific results. The theses have been discussed on the Musicology and composition chair meetings, within the framework of scientific seminar, specialty 653.01 – Musicology and on the 25.03.2016 have been recommended for approval. Researches Materials have found reflection in the speeches of the author on national and international scientific conferences organized at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in 2012–2015 and have been published in 14 scientific papers – 9 articles and 5 theses.
