Summary

Thesis structure: 116 pages; introduction, 3 chapters, conclusions and practical recommendations; 16 tables, 27 figures, 10 annexes; the bibliography index quotes 239 sources. The results were published in 14 scientific papers. The aim of study: The study of the biochemical mechanisms of action of local biologic active compounds (BAC) on glutathione cycle and thiol-disulfide metabolism in experimental hepatopathy, argumentation of their efficient application, optimization of diagnostic methods for monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment. Objectives of the research: To study the changes of the main glutathione enzymes cycle and thiol-disulfide metabolism markers produced by the local BAC (Schiff base and their combinations with 3d metals, and cyanobacterian remedies) in physiological condition and in experimental liver pathologies.

Scientific research methods: We conducted a biochemical experimental study on laboratory animals (Rata albicans) of glutathione enzymes and thiol-disulfide metabolism in two models of liver pathology ‒ liver cirrhosis induced by carbon tetrachloride and ethylene-induced toxic hepatopathy.

Scientific novelty: The mechanisms of action of the local BAC on glutathione cycle and thiol-disulfide metabolism in normal conditions and experimental liver pathology were elucidated, ascertaining their effectiveness in metabolic disorders caused by the administration of toxic compounds.

Theoretical value: Elucidation of fine mechanisms that underlie action BAC expand theoretical knowledge about the biological properties of a number of new local BAC also offers new opportunities to explore perspective objects to obtain new effective medicinal preparations. Applied value: Elucidation of mechanisms underlying the action of a number of local BAC extend theoretical knowledge of their biological properties, as well as open up new prospects for effective drugs development.

Implementation of the results: The results of the research have been implemented in the teaching process of the Chairs of Biochemistry and clinical biochemistry and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of "Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Republic of Moldova), diagnostic process in the laboratories of Institute of Cardiology and of the Republican Centre of External Quality Control.
