Summary

Domain of research: cardiology.

Goal: Evaluation of the effects of nebivolol on the long-term dynamics of oxidative stress, inflammatory, endothelial dysfunction markers in patients undergoing coronary angioplasty.

Objectives of research: Estimating the effects of treatment with nebivolol vs bisoprolol on the biomarkers of oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction and inflammatory status. Assessment of the correlation between the treatment with nebivolol and oxidative stress, depending on the associated therapy and the type of stent implanted. Identification of major cardiovascular events in the immediate and late period since the percutaneous coronary intervention.

Novelty and originality of research: The current research provides supplementary evidence regarding the involvement of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of coronary alterations after PCI. For the first time in our country was evaluated the evolution of the oxidative stress biomarkers on the background of the treatment with nebivolol in patients with stable angina pectoris undergoing PCI.

Scientific problem solved in the thesis consists of establishing the effectiveness of long tern treatment (12 months) with nebivolol vs bisoprolol on the markers of oxidative stress in patients undergoing coronary angioplasty.

Theoretical value: New objective data has been obtained regarding the markers dynamics of oxidative stress, of inflammation, and of endothelial dysfunction within 24 hours after the percutaneous coronary intervention and the biomarkers evolution during 12 months, on the background of long term nebivolol therapy lasting.

Applied value: Nebivolol administered in the average dose of 5 mg/day induced antioxidant pronounced effects, accompanied by the rising of NO bioavailability and the reducing of inflammatory stress.

Practical implementation: The study results were estimated as scientific valuable and have been implemented in current curative activity of the Institute of the Cardiology, Municipal Hospital ,,Sfânta Treime” and employed in academic at the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "Nicolae Testemitanu".
