The aim of this paper consists in investigation of the feminine characters in the prose and dramaturgy of I. Druţă, in order to determine the ethic, aesthetic and ontological dimensions of the femininity as a form and essence of human existence, resulting in the configuration of writer’s artistic conception about the man and world.

The objectives of the present research are:

The scientific novelty and originality of the work. Thesis accurately records the most representative and contradictory (from today's perspective) critical reactions to the appearance of the Druta’s work. Overbiding the ethical, social, political and ideological point of view, was disadvantaged ontological and identity-ethnic vision, truly corresponding to the author artistic manner and constituting, overall, an appropriate and integral optic on his creation. Although I. Druţă gives us a rich gallery of feminine literary characters, both protagonists and secondary, with fundamental roles in the action, especially in defining the spirituality of the world in which they live, the druţian feminine characters issues is not finding a full reflection in critics.

In this context, relying on an ontological and identity-ethnic interpretation of female characters and on the relations between them and the dominant patriarchal system with its representatives, the thesis The feminine character in Ion Druta’s creation justifies his character of a original and appropriate scientific approach.

Scientific solved problem consists in critical and theoretical reevaluation of the aesthetic and ontologic significances of the artistic perspectives imposed by drutian feminine characters, in the context of identity and socio-cultural universe marked by the values and tradition constants, on the one hand, and on the other hand, by the aggression of new life ontic fundaments and human relationships, wich conditioned the revealing of a ontological, ethnic and identitar view, closer to the global meaning offered by the author and which creates the proper optics on the Druță's work.

The theoretical and practical value of the work. The thesis is addressed to researchers interested in approaching to the problem of femininity from a wide artistic perspective of human relationships and as a aesthetic concept, in close connection with the whole evolution of the Bessarabian literary phenomenon in communism, and in the context to upset the settled life forms and values. Implementation of research results. The results of the investigation formed the basis of several published articles and communications presented at national and international conferences.
