Summary

The thesis includes 124 pages and consists of introduction, four chapters, conclusions and recommendations, 191 bibliography sources, 9 tables, 68 figures and 6 annexes. The obtained results were summarized in 19 publications.

Field of research: inorganic chemistry.

The purpose and objectives of the thesis: Synthesis and study by using different physicochemical methods of 1D, 2D and 3D coordination polymers of Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with carboxylic and pyridine-type ligands, and identification of their eventual application fields. To achieve this purpose the following objectives were established: to obtain coordination polymers of Co(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) with mono- and dicarboxylic acids and mono- and bipyridine ligands; to study the assembling of Cu(II) complexes with ligands containing N,O-donor sets; characterization of obtained complexes using different research methods; to determine the useful properties of synthesized compounds.

Scientific novelty: 36 new coordination compounds that include 34 coordination polymers : 14 1D, 18 2D, 2 3D coordination polymers and 2 binuclear complexes, which contain carboxylic and pyridine-type ligands. For the first time have been shown examples of SC-SC transformations on one dimensional coordination polymer of Cd(II), Co(II) și 2D, 3D of Co(II) and mechanical properties of one Co(II) 2D coordination polymer were studied.

Scientific problem solved: optimal and efficient methods were established for obtaining coordination polymers, that contain intermolecular cavities, which can be occupied by small guest molecules, which were obtained by the combination of aromatic and aliphatic mono- and bipyridine. ligands.

The theoretical significance and value of the work: The thesis contributes to the understanding of the processes SC-SC transformation with keeping the crystal lattice. It was revealed the influence of the metal and of pyridine and dicarboxylic ligands on the properties of the synthesized compounds. Applicability of this work lies in the use of newly synthesized polymeric coordination compounds with well-defined structures as prospective sponge materials for reversible release-uptake of the small molecules. The selected compounds of Co(II) and Cu(II) may be used as inhibitors of microbial pathogens.

Implementation of the results: It was demonstrated the reversibility of the evacuation an enclosing process of the molecules in the crystal lattice, which makes such networks attractive targets for applications in the adsorption of harmful gases, for example, CO2 from the atmosphere.
