Summary

The goal: research the evolution of the status and the mentality of the Bessarabian nobility under Tsarist domination between 1812 – 1873.

Objectivesof the thesis consist in: the analysis of the concept of mentality; the problem regarding the status and the mentality of the Bessarabian nobility in modern and contemporary historiography; studying of Tsarist policy promoted to the awarding of noble title in Bessarabia; the research of the evolution of the political-legal and socio-economic status of the nobility in the region after the annexation; the analysis of the dynamics and ethnic structure of the Besarabian nobility in the 19th century; the investigation of the manifestation of the imaginary of identity and alterity at the Bessarabian nobility after the annexation to the Russian Empire; the studying the impact of Tsarist domination on the representations and visions of life in the Besarabian nobility; establishing the evolution of everyday and monden patterns of the Bessarabian nobility during the 19-th century.

Actuality and scientific originality found its expression in the analysis of the problem, on the basis of the original sources of the archive and the published ones, of the evolution of the status and mentality of the Bessarabian nobility under the influence of the Tsarist domination regime, whose approach proved to be tangential in historiography.

The solved scientific problem consists in the research and reconstruction of a complex image of the nobility from Bessarabia during the years 1812-1873, the evolution of political, social and economic status of this social category under the influence of the policy promoted by the Tsarist administration.

The theoretical importance of the thesis consists in the opening of new perspectives in the study of the history of Bessarabia, the ethnic and social structure of the population, the Tsarist policy promoted in the territory between Prut and Nistru rivers, and the evolution of the status and mentality of the Bessarabian nobility in the 19th century.

Applied value of the work is determined by the fact that, on the basis of a massive volume of archive documents, one of the most important aspects of the history of the Bessarabian nobility has been approached and researched - the evolution of its status: from the title of boyar held in the Principality of Moldova to the Russian nobility existing in the Russian Empire, as well as the impact of the Tsarist domination regime on the evolution of the nobility mentality. The results of the investigation of the thesis can serve to elaborate various scientific materials focused on studying the history of the nobility of Bessarabia under Tsarist domination. Also, they will find their implementation in the educational process of students, master students, doctoral students.

Implementation of scientific results: The results of this investigation have been exposed and approved in reports and communications presented at national and international scientific conferences, symposia and seminars, the content of which is reflected in 30 scientific publications.
