Thesis basic objectives: the explanation of forming, stabilization, functioning mechanisms of medical terminological system, as a part of medical language; elucidation of symbiosis national/ international in formation of medical terminology in Romanian language through a comparative study; identification, interpretation and analysis of medical terminology elements in Letopiseţul Țării Moldovei; elucidation o the role which Greek-Latin doublets hold in formation of medical terminology in Romanian language, national and international dimensions, revealing of particularities in medical terminology formation in function of assigning of terminological units to a name (noun), quality (adjective), action (verb) – linguistic level. Scientific novelty of obtained results. It was explained the national/ international dimensions in functioning of medical terminology in Romanian language in basis of Greek-Latin doublets. This approach can be applied to other Romanic languages as well.

Fundamentally new results obtained for science and practice. There was realized a complex and holistic approach of the problem of medical terminology in Romanian language (retrospective and perspective). National/ international dimensions were reflected through the medium of Greek-Latin doublets which form medical terminology. As well were identified and explained existing deficiencies in medical terminology (eponimany, synonymy, outdated terms etc.) semantic phenomena; was revealed the terminological function which Latin language owns in medical language, as well as some problems medical terminology functioning in vivo.

Theoretical signification aims the elucidation of national/ international dimensions in medical terminology in Romanian language, doublets analysis in the context of internationalization of medical terminology identification of neologization sources of medical terminology, etiological explanation of semantic phenomena etc. Applicative value of the work can be materialized in: a) Terminology studies – actualization activities, ordering, terminologies unification, including medical terminology; b) Linguistic studies – inventory of affixoidal terminological elements represents a factual material of their description (etymological, morphological, disciplinary aspects etc.); c) Pedagogical studies – the creation of a methodology of conscious acquiring of terminology, when preparing methodical guidance, books, guides etc. Scientific results implementation. Theoretical solutions and practical results were implemented at SUMPh „Nicolae Testemițanu”, Romanian Language course, which has as reference the books: E. Mincu et al. Limba Română.
