Summary

Field of study of this thesis is Finance

The subject of the researchis to analyze the special aspects of formation and development of Investment Mechanism of the Republic of Moldova as well as to find the way to improve the effectiveness of investment mechanism functioning.

Objectives of the thesis: to structure the theoretical fundamentals of the investment mechanism, to identify the intensity of the investment influence on economic growth in Republic of Moldova, to analyze the methodical fundamentals of the investment mechanism creation, to identify the expediency of the objects and objectives of investment mechanism of Republic of Moldova declared in the investment strategy; to analyze the legal bases for foreign direct investment management; to analyze the specific of creating and functioning of the resource provision for investment processes in the Republic of Moldova; to estimate the investment potential and investment risks in order to create motivational part of the investment mechanism of the Republic of Moldova; to identify the top-priority economic sectors for foreign direct investment.

Scientific novelty and originality consists of: clarifying the concept of the content of "investment mechanism"; formation and recommendations to the application in the Republic of Moldova of the reference structure of the investment mechanism; identification and formation of the hierarchical sequence of the objectives of the investment mechanism of the Republic of Moldova in priority types of FDI in accordance with the FDI typology of J. Dunning and K. Eckholm, the peculiarities of the current structure of FDI in the Republic of Moldova and the objectives of the economic development of the Republic of Moldova; proof and justification of the need and the possibility of adapting the tools used in the calculation of the BERI indices for use as the basis for the formation of a national rating system for assessing investment risks; allocation and application of mathematical tools for determining the place of the Republic of Moldova in global value chains with a view to formulate sectoral priorities and types of FDI; using new methodology for the Republic of Moldova to determine the priority type of FDI with a view to making adjustments to the national investment strategy of the Republic of Moldova.

Important scientific issue solved consists in the creation and structuring of the complex model of the investment mechanism basing on the analysis of the separate elements of the investment mechanism as well as in the development of the ideas to improve the functioning of each investment mechanism element and to optimize the investment mechanism of the Republic of Moldova as general.

The theoretical significance and applicative value of the thesis is to develop the reference structure of the investment mechanism and the methodology to create the effective investment mechanism for certain country as of for the Republic of Moldova. The results of the research are useful for the realization of the National Investment Strategy of the Republic of Moldova.

Implementation of scientific results. The most important results have been accepted for the implementation by Moldova Investment and Export Promotion Organization, National Commission for financial markets, Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.
