Field of study: Social Psychology.
The objective consists in studying the functionality of the family systems marked by economic migration and identifying the psychological mechanisms to mitigate the effects of economic migration on the structured family in the counseling model for mitigating the effects of economic migration on the family system.
Research objectives: Investigating the theory with reference to family psychology, particularly with reference to systemic approach to a family, specifying the theoretical and practical analysis of the effects of economic migration on the family system; important analysis of the differences between family systems marked and unmarked by economic migration, and the functionality of family systems marked by economic migration depending on a number of socio-demographic factors; developement and implementation of an experimental model of systemic psychological counseling - to mitigate the effects of economic migration on the family system.
The solved problem lies in establishing the way families marked by economic migration function and in developing a psychological counseling model that would mitigate the effects of economic migration on the family system.
Scientific novelty and originality. It is one of the first theoretical and experimental research in local social psychology providing a comparative analysis between family marked by economic migration and the family unmarked by this phenomenon of systemic family perspective; sets the sociodemographic factors which influence the family marked by economic migration by its level of operation; the development of a model of counseling that would mitigate the effects of economic migration on the family system.
The theoretical significance is supported by the analysis, profiling, explanation and delimitation of the aspects of the conceptual framework of the family’s systems of theories, the description of the mechanisms of a functional family system. Moreover, this research brings a plus by describing the impact the economic migration has on the whole family, and this can be used as a starting point in studying in more depth the causes and effects of the dysfunctionalily of the families marked by the economic migration on the meso and macro social systems. The value of the work consists in the elaboration and validation of the theoretical and applicative foundations, projected in the elements and interventions of the Counseling Model to mitigate the effects of the economic migration on the family system, which can be used in a family counseling activity, in the activity of school psychologists, within the psycho-pedagogical assistance service , also in rehabilitation and community centers that have as beneficiaries the members of dysfunctional families as a result of economic migration.
Implementation of scientific results The obtained results were implemented into practice as a part of the promoted activities with the practicing psychologists in the northern part of the Republic of Moldova by means of the Applied Scientific Research Project, financed by the ASM, entitled "Researching the Functionality of Families in the Republic of Moldova and Developing the Mechanisms for their Psycho-Social Redeployment in the Context of European Integrationpsychological counseling activities offered through the site www.psyconsult.usarb.md; teaching in in-service training for school psychologists and for teachers, as well as teaching the" Family counseling "discipline in the Master's studies in the specialty" Psychological Counseling in Institutions and Organizations ", USARB.
