Goal of the research: Evaluation of the particularities in management of patients with community-acquired pneumonia at different stages of healthcare service in the Republic of Moldova. Objectives of research: (1) To analyze the particularities of clinical management of community-acquired pneumonia in outpatient service in different regions of the Republic of Moldova. (2) To emphasize the particularities of clinical management of community-acquired pneumonia at the primary and secondary levels of medical care in different regions of the Republic of Moldova. (3) To assess of adherence to the recommendations of the national clinical guidelines on community-acquired pneumonia, in outpatient and inpatient services (4) To determine physicians adherence to the recommendations of the national guidelines for the management of community-acquired pneumonia. (5) To analyze the costs associated with inpatient treated community-acquired pneumonia.
Novelty and originality of the research. For the first time, analysis of management aspects of CAP at different stages of healthcare services in different regions of the Republic of Moldova was performed complementary adherence to the recommendations of the national CAP protocol was assessed
Theoretical importance of the research. The data obtained in the study serve for the improvement of the physicians adherence to national guidelines, with consequent impaction mortality and costs reduction.
Scientific problem addressed. The results of the research have allowed the assessment at national level of the adherence to CAP guidelines in outpatient and impatient services. The obtained data serve for the development of programs for the improvement of the adherence to CAP guidelines, as well as for the revision of national CAP guideline on the importance of adherence to the guidelines recommendations.
Applied value. Highlighting the shortcomings in adherence to national CAP guidelines, the thesis results allow to develop interventions for promoting of guidelines recommendations in continuing medical education programs.
