The paper includes introduction, three chapters, conclusions for each chapter, general conclusions, bibliography of 179 sources, 1 annex, 100 pages of text, 40 figures, 11 tables, 10 formulae. The results of the thesis were published in 21 scient ific papers and reports on national and internat ional conferences.
The domain of research comprises shadow information economics (SIE), encompassing the stages of products and services lifecycle.
Important solved problem is to form a holistic view of the phenomenon of SIE as a whole and its structure in particular, opening the possibility to offer methodological and methodological bases for its further study.
The aim of this work is analyzing the phenomenon of SIE, defining its basis, structure, risks, and damage.
The aim was achieved by solving the following tasks: research the nature of SIE; research and define the structural basis and the composition of its segments, products and services, perform their comparative analysis through the prism of functions, reasons of appearance, and development perspectives; build models of its profitabilit y elements.
Scientific novelty of this paper is defined by the development and introduction of methodological basics of SIE research; three SIE category definitions are proposed; an original model complex was developed, describing SIE structure, including criminalized goods and services in the domain of information technologies; a classification of SIE sectors is proposed and a parallel with their “legal” analogues is drawn; SIE sectoral structure is proposed and described; SIE evolution is analyzed; SIE institutional bases are defined.
The results of this thesis paper were reflected in educat ional process at Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, serving as the basis of “Shadow Information Economics” course.
The results were also implemented at the National Bank of Moldova, helping in information security projects estimation, and in employees’ education. Proposed methodological approaches are recommended for further theoretic and empiric researches of SIE.
