The influence of a variety of attitudes to labour migration on the ethnic identity of students was identified. The possibility of development of ethno cultural competence and ethnic tolerance at university students through a specially developed program of training sessions was proved.

Systemic work with the given group of young people, aimed at development of ethno cultural competence and ethnic tolerance, contributes to ethno cultural sensitivity formation as a base for a positive ethnic identity.

The research results contribute to clarification and systematization of the existing knowledge concerning the intermediated influence of social factors on the ethnic identity alteration in students, the particularities of their socialization under conditions of labour migration and different cultural contexts.

The practical value of the workis ensured by the practical application in the educational institutions working with the youth of knowledge about the particularities of students’ ethnical identity. It extends possibilities to create training programs of ethno cultural competency and ethnic tolerance development at young people and students, who take part in labour migration.
