The goal of the research is to elaborate the theoretical-methodological and applicative basis referring to the assessment of the economic and financial effects of abuse of dominant position on the domestic economic entities in order to minimize these effects and to increase the efficiency of the competition in the Republic of Moldova. To achieve this goal, we will pursue the following objectives: conceptual argumentation of competition and abuse of a dominant position in the contemporary economy; the synthesis of the theoretical and methodological approaches regarding the economic and financial effects of abuse of a dominant position on economic entities; identifying the economic and financial effects of abuse of a dominant position on the EU market; assessing cases of dominant position abuse and its economic and financial effects within the national economy; developing the methodology for determining anticompetitive effects on actors in the relevant market; identifying the econometric model to simulate the financial effects of dominant position abuse; formulation of recommendations for maintaining the national competitive environment.

The scientific novelty and originality of the work includes the following elements: synthesis and deepening of the theoretical approaches regarding the concept of abuse of dominant position in the context of modern economy; elaboration of the econometric model for simulation of the economic and financial effects of abuse of dominant position; determining the possibilities of maintaining the competitive environment within the national economy; the argumentation and the implementation of the methodology for determining the anticompetitive effects on the actors of the relevant market; determining the directions for improvement of the competition policy, which allow the adoption of measures to maintain the financial equilibrium of national economy.

The important scientific problem solved in the thesis consists in: determining and quantifying the financial effects of abuse of a dominant position on economic entities in the Republic of Moldova in order to identify the ways of minimizing these effects and increasing the competitive market in the country.

The theoretical significance and the applicative value of the thesis lie in the research and development of the concept of abuse of a dominant position; determining the economic and financial effects of dominant position abuse on economic entities; developing a simulation model of the economic and financial effects of dominant position abuse on economic entities. Theoretical findings and research conclusions can provide a consistent basis for further research in the field, and the results of research can be integrated into academic courses to train students in economics specialties. The recommendations can be applied for strengthening the competitive mechanism on the market of the Republic of Moldova, as well as to avoid or mitigate the economic - financial effects that the economic entities facing the abuse of a dominant position can endure.
