Summary

Thesis structure. Introduction, literature review, research organization, research materials and methods, explorative 3 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 196 titles, 11 annexes, 120 pages of main text, 34 figures, 23 tables. The results are published in 11 scientific papers. Keywords: disability, lower limb amputation, medical rehabilitation, diabetes, physiotherapy, active kinetic techniques, quality of life. Research field: Medical Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine.

Purpose: Clinical and functional evaluation of patients after the lower limb amputation and preparing medical rehabilitation programs with active kinetic techniques. Research’s objectives: Estimation of clinic-functional particularities in patients with lower limb amputations in the postoperative tardy period; Study of disability after the lower limb amputation through the concept of bio-psycho-social assessment; Elaboration of an algorithm for evaluation and conduct for the people who suffered lower limb amputations. Perfecting medical rehabilitation programs with active kinetic techniques and assessing their effectiveness.

Scientific novelty and originality. There were highlighted clinical and functional indicators of influence on disability and quality of life, with their evolution in dynamics in primary prosthetic patients after transtibial lower limb amputations trained in various medical rehabilitation programs. Studies have been deepened on the complexity and role of active kinetic methods with the development of a behavioral algorithm for people with inferior limb amputations.

The scientific problem solved in the thesis. The effects of medical rehabilitation programs with active kinetic techniques on clinical and functional manifestations in people with disabilities through lower limb amputations were analyzed and objectified. The results of the study allowed the development of an assessment and conduct algorithm for people with lower limb amputations.

The theoretical significance. The results of the researches extend the theoretical knowledge in the field of the beneficial influences of the active kinetic methods on the improvement of the clinical-functional, psychosocial state and the quality of life in patients with disabilities through the transtibial amputation of the lower limb.

Applicative value of the study. The results of the research served as a benchmark for the development of the algorithm for the evaluation and perfecting of the medical rehabilitation programs with active kinetic techniques of patients with disabilities by amputation of the lower limb.

Implementation of scientific results. National clinical protocol and methodical recommendations are used in Republican Experimental Center for Prosthetics, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, and in the teaching process of the Department of medical rehabilitation, physical medicine and manual therapy.
