Structure of the thesis: introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions, recommendations, bibliography of 209 sources, 7 annexes, 117 pages, 26 figures, 17 tables. The achieved results are published in 21 scientific journals.
The research area: Hygiene Study aim: Evaluation of the impact of physical activity and nutrition on the development of obesity among adults to develop comprehensive measures.
Study objectives:
1. Assesment of current situation and political landmarks in prevention and control of obesity.
2. Analysis of the influence of marketing policy and technological progress in development of unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity among adult population.
3. Determination of the health status of adult population in relation with nutrition and physical activity.
4. Development of comprehensive measures for prevention of obesity among adult population.
Scientific novelty and originality of the work: The results of the study represent a complex approach that complements the scientific framework dedicated to the field of prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. The research studies deepen the fragmentary aspects of obesity risk factors, outlining the modern influences of marketing strategies as well as technological advances on the development of obesity among the population.
The scientific problem solved in the thesis consists in the scientific approach of the impact of marketing strategies and technological progress, which led to clarification for the theoreticians and public health practitioners of the respective factors in order to elaborate complex measures to prevent and control obesity at national level.
The theoretical significance: The results of the study will serve as scientific evidence in the argumentation of policies and programs developed for prevention and control of obesity in the Republic of Moldova.
The applied value of the study: The study allowed us to develop methods and techniques to prevent and control obesity. The results and materials developed in the research can be broadly applied in the continuous training of public health specialists, family doctors, dieticians, nutritionists and nurses as well as serve as scientific support for the strengthening of quality of healthy life-promoting services.
Implementation of scientific results: Research results are useful to cover the needs of overweight and obese people, and methods and techniques for reduction of risk factors can help effectively monitor the health status of the affected population and improve the quality of life by referring them in time to specialists.
