Field of study: theory and methodology of instruction (Italian language).

The aim of the research is to determine the theoretical-practical aspects, to develop and validate the methodology of the development of the pragmatic communication competence in studying Italian language through the use of the media.

Objectives of the research: revealing the essence of basic concepts: communication competence, pragmatic communication, pragmatic communication competence; establishing the pedagogical conditions and the methodological opportunities for capitalizing on the media in the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of Italian language at the level of higher education; determining the specificity of TV and Internet expertise in delivering Italian language teaching and learning; elaboration of the methodology by making the most of the media in the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of Italian language in higher education; elaboration and validation of the Technological Model for the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of the Italian language through valorizing the media.

The novelty and scientific originality of the investigation lies in the identification of the necessity of extending the epistemic and pragmatic use of the media in the process of teaching-learning-evaluation of Italian language; clarifying and revealing the meaning of the basic concepts: communication skills, pragmatic communication, pragmatic communication skills, media, multimedia, analyzed in the context of establishing the methodology for the development of the pragmatic communication competence in studying Italian language and highlighting the scientific approaches and orientations regarding the use of media.

The scientific problem solved in the research consists in determining the theoretical fundamentals regarding pragmatic communication competence, experimental elaboration and validation of the Technological Model for the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of the Italian language through valorizing the media with impact on the development of the university didactics in the context of the information society.

The theoretical significance of the research is supported by the analysis, specification, delimitation and interpretation of the aspects of the conceptual framework of the pragmatic communication competence in the context of the use of the media. Examining and analyzing scientific guidelines on new technologies in general and the media in particular, the difficulties of using the media in studying Italian language, the elucidation of the methodological opportunities to make the Italian language teaching more efficient in higher education have determined the efficiency of media use in the development of the pragmatic communication skills in the study of Italian language and have contributed to the scientific elaboration and argumentation of theoretical - applicable background of the media, in order to develop the pragmatic communication competence in the teaching-learningevaluation the Italian language.

The praxeological value of the research consists in the elaboration and validation of the theoreticalpractical fundamentals, structured in the components and instruments of the Technological Model for the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of the Italian language through valorizing the media.

The implementation of the scientific results was carried out through the experimental researches at UPS ”Ion Creangă” during Italian language lessons, by implementing the theoretical and practical fundamentals elaborated and structured in the Technological Model for the development of the pragmatic communication competence in the study of the Italian language through valorizing the media, including participation in national and international conferences; publishing scientific materials and carrying out practical activities with students who learn Italian.
