The main goal of the present work is to analyse the particularities of words` order from the point of view of the relationship sentence-text. To study the words` order from this angle, two criteria are considered to be important: the function and the place the sentence occupies in a micro-text. The micro-text’s delimitation is done on the basis of the relationship of the communicative progression - the cohesion’s degree between sentences - the order of words. There are analysed different types of communicative progression in the chronicles, especially, the linear succession of topics and the succession with constant topic. The models identified in this compartment in the chroniclers` writings illustrate the constraint, in the literary text, the function of textual arrangement of words` order.
Studied in larger limits than those of a sentence, the words` order modifies its objective/subjective value in chronicles, hence the effectuation of a certain delimitation used in this work for the notions of objective order of words - subjective order of words. On its basis the following types of words` order are characterized: direct order of words with objective value, direct order of words with subjective value, reverse order of words with subjective value. In the thesis there are analyzed also the functions that are realized by different parts of the sentence in the initial position: construction of cohesion of the text, the utterance of the known information for introducing new information; the highlighting of the subject of an action known before, the formulation of the topic of the transphrastique unity; epic function; the highlighting of the subject in ante-position („nominativus pendens”) etc. For the final position there are mentioned the following functions: indication of the cohesion; indication of the new information; anticipation of the micro-text’s hipertheme; specification or completion etc.
On the basis of functional sentential perspective of the sentence different successions of words` order are described and interpreted, being created a typology, are emphasized the conditions in which the same linear order represents structure, are established the forces which produce the variation of the order of words and also there are analyzed the functions that have words’ order in chronicle: communicative, organizational, structural and grammatical one (with the emphatic and aesthetic variants).
The factual material illustrates the way the chronicles have used the words` order to create expressive effects and to achieve the texts` cohesion
